my thoughts on what happened today…

Our country lies in ruins from the blood that we have spilt with our own hands; from our very own undoing we see this day the sight of things to come, our own demise.

We used to be a peace loving country with the people’s lives only revolving around the need to eat and the need to live. We had our own beliefs, culture and nationalism. The only path available to us was to go forward; to progress beyond our most unimaginable dreams and be like all those other countries out there. To simple folk this was just step too far for their liking, but there were some of us that dared to dream. And then came the golden age of our country; we stuck to our beliefs and culture and we progressed beyond our wildest dreams and we were happy. We were home free on our way to glory and to establish ourselves in the world, which would be considered such a great establishment for a country of our own stature.

But then came the black cloud that is now hanging over our heads. The path available to us came with a heavy price, which we are now seeing in almost all the countries in the world; hatred, vanity, greed, hunger, death just all the consequences of progress. We always want more, what we can’t have is what we crave the most. We were on a great path and we wanted more, and thus black cloud is looming over own heads.

We had a clear cut government that did their job to protect the people; granted they might have done some things that they were not proud of for the good of the country, they still protected us. We progressed and we decided to question our government, which in turn lead to factions between the people. The people of religion, the so called well educated people who knew the way of the world, and the existing government. Then came their foot soldiers that did almost anything for money; puppets if you will. The verbal abuse started and is still raging on, between skirmishes created by the puppet master’s using the puppets that eventually become the casualties.

The people revolt and we the people are playing into the hands of these puppet masters. We need to unite and not fall for these tricks of war and have an open mind about what’s going now; not falling into the pot holes they are laying down for us. What happened today was sad and uncalled for and would hurt us in the long run. We don’t know who did what and how all his came to play. We shouldn’t go on blaming certain factions until the facts have been cleared. Blaming religion on this whole ordeal is not going to solve anything. We don’t have any hidden underground layers for extremists to breed in, which is of course the most common philosophy of choice people are choosing to believe.

We are what we are, what we choose to be; we like being controlled, being fed lies so that we won’t have to face the truth. That we are but mere humans with human tendencies to wreak havoc and ruin lives, but we also have the ability to love and that is the common truth that we must rely on.

thoughts on the new tv shows

I can’t seem to be able to sleep these days; my internal clock has gone haywire or something, or it might just be that I’m so obsessed with getting my copy of Halo 3 to finish the fight that I can’t get a wink. Note to self, must go to Gamer’s Hideout today, after exam. Or and did I mention I had exams and I haven’t slept a wink; I’m going to be snoozing in there, which explains why I’m so open unlike I usually am ( this happens when I don’t get enough sleep ). Ok well what the post is really about is the new fall TV shows. Different people have different opinions about the new stuff, oh and boy there are some really good stuff, and here’s my opinion, from top to bottom, (urgh I totally misspelled bottom the first time with bottem, I couldn’t figure out what the spelling was; does anyone else has a problem with spelling bottom?, thank god for Microsoft word, I love you Bill Gates, not! *ahem* ) or do you want it bottom to top? Well uhh top to bottom it is. So that means top has the best shows and bottom has the least shows, which I liked. So continuing here’s the list.

1.Pushing Daisies – Best show ever! Awesome! Can’t live without watching it good! Sums it all up I guess. Witty dialogue, great script and good acting can also sum it up. Well there you go I’ve summed it up. Watch it! Oh and the names has links which gives more info on the show’s premise.

2. Gossip Girl – Two episodes in I’m sucked into the whole girly drama with latest music ( I like listening to those r’n’b ( don’t know how they spell that ) and chick pop is it called? once in awhile ). What can I say…I’m just a sucker for teenage drama.

Darn It! There goes the alarm. Have to go to college. Read the slides on the LRT. Do exam. I’ll update this later. By that time I will have Halo 3 in my hands I hope, and I’ll be much more sane.

3. Journeyman – This has moved down the list since I found out they stole the whole plotline from a great story called “The Time Traveler’s Wife”. Bad bad move. But hey it still rocks and I didn’t read the story so I’m all in for the second episode. I really like the protagonist. He carries the whole show on his shoulders, and that’s what you look for in a lead actor doesn’t it. And yea he was one of the leads in HBO’s Rome which I still haven’t been able to watch but will catch up maybe sometime next year.

4. Chuck – Nerd Herd alert! This is filled with geeky jokes that I can totally get, I don’t know about you guys but that’s why I dig this show. It’s fun but already done premise ; ordinary guy turns to spy to save the world blah blah. But the best thing about this is the main character is reminiscent of the late ‘Seth Cohen’. I hear rumors that Adam Brody was actually offered the role but he turned it down so he can do movies. Good luck to him and the main guy in the series isn’t doing a bad job either. And yea there’s captain awesome in this series. Awesome!!!

5. Private Practice – Who doesn’t love the whole emo doctor love stories with a fun twist that is of the Grey’s Anatomy origin? Addision, who is one of my favorite characters, btw moves over to uhh some city to go into ‘Private Practice’ with her friends who were introduced late in a Addison centric special episode last season. Granted people didn’t like it at first, I think the show has lots of potential and will get better in time. Oh and this one has a McNipple…LOL

6. The Sarah Connor Chronicles – I remember first seeing Terminator at a friend’s house when I was like 13 years old. He was obsessed with it and after I watched it I knew why. A great storyline ( I’m a sucker for time traveling stuff as well ) and Arnold Schwarzanegger ( I did my best to get the spelling right… ) who’s one line stole the whole movie. “I’ll be bak” Everyone knows that line. So anyways back to the point. This series shows what happened between the second and third movie. Remember Connor saying his mother died sometime back, now we will know how. She might not even be killed. Because they are messing with the timeline again so lots of twists and turns to come. This show is premiering mid season in January. Here’s hoping it can get a solid footing then till the fourth movie comes out. Oh and yea the pilot was awesome. Full of action, can’t wait till it premieres.

With a full blown Monday night of great television which includes , Heroes, Prison Break, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men, comes a new welcome addition to the science fiction genre making a solid impact with its time bending anomalies and shows what a man would do to save his marriage. Simply amazing. This is the best new series of this fall for me.

The story is as follows:
“Kevin McKidd (Rome) stars as Dan Vassar in this new series from NBC set to air in the fall of 2007. Dan is happily married with a son. It seems like he has everything going for him. Dan ends up traveling into the past. He changes people’s lives, sometimes for the better, but sometimes not. During his travels he meets up with Livia Beale, he was engaged to her when she died in a plane crash. Knowing the future he has a chance to save her but how will that change his own future?”

Watch it…You won’t be disappointed.

Have you ever encountered the paranormal?

These thoughts of mine are based on science, without taking religion into context.

Have you ever encountered the paranormal, the unexplained? Instances where you can’t explain what happened and you question your own sanity? Some people have and I’m not one of them. I think most of these so called encounters are due of the mental state of the person at that instance and what they see are hallucinations fabricated by their mental state.

Take for example people visit ‘haunted’ houses expecting to see something supernatural and they see what they want to. Go to the bathroom look at the mirror and say ‘Bloody Mary’ thirteen times and she’ll come and gauge your eyes out. These stories have become legends throughout the ages mostly inspired by brutal killings that had happened at specific locations. The victims become ghost’s and haunts the place for all eternity. Now this is one example of the paranormal, ghosts.

Now Jinn’s, which we have heard about from childhood, is something different. Jinn’s are entities that we can’t see. Not soul’s of the people that die. There are stories of people seeing them, and being possessed by them. And there are even stories of ‘Gavehi Kudhin’ that used to serve our families in old Maldivian Folklore. Now I’ve never encountered one or seen anything but I know there is something out there that we don’t know of.

Now I’m wondering if we know about such beings why we are not trying to communicate with them. Well sure there are ‘shamans’ that can supposedly communicate with them but why are the so called great minds of the world are looking for life on other planets where there might be entities that we can’t see on our own. Carbon based isn’t the only type of life form, there can be others. Maybe they don’t believe in the supernatural but if they really check it out who knows they might find out that these beings are the ones on ‘flying saucers’ playing paranoia with our heads.

This has gone a little off topic but I’d like to know if you have gone through any paranormal or supernatural encounters in your life time till now. Hope you guys are willing to share your stories although they might be a bit personal but I think this would be an interesting read to everyone that might open our eyes to the supernatural world.

Maurinho Leaves Chelsea

This is shocking news. It really is. The premiership is never going to be the same again without the ‘Special One’. He was doing his thing until Abramovich interfered with his work and brought in Shevchenko and Ballack. Although I loathe Chelsea for their money and Mourinho for his moaning ways he’s one great coach and he’ll be thoroughly missed.

Now where would he go now? That is the question. How about the England job eh lads?

Tony is not dead!!! I repeat…TONY IS NOT DEAD!!!

Guess whose back for the 7th Season of 24? Tony Almeida of course. He was last seen left for dead in the CTU infirmary in the 5th Season. So 24 fans, there’s a lesson to be learned from this. When a main character dies in 24 and doesn’t get the ‘silent clock’ treatment they are not officially dead.

I don’t know how they are going to pull this off, but this is 24 after all where the main protagonist faked his own death in the 4th Season. Having Tony back will improve the ratings since its lackluster season of last. And I for one am glad he’s back. Jack and Tony kicking terrorist butt would be a moment to behold. Remember when Tony saved Jack’s arse back in Season 4? Something like that.

Now if they could only bring Chase back hopefully with a mechanical arm…hmmm

Gossip Girl aka The O.C 2.0

Cue up to a girl getting out of a train with the voice over of Kristin Bell’s sexy humorous voice narrating the story of her mysterious past. Cue down, a boy and his sister gets out from the same train and see’s the girl. The girl who returns after a year long absence and the emotionally tortured boy looks on to the girl he had carried on a torch for since kindergarten. How would they finally meet? Listen to gossip girl and she will tell you. You know you love her.

This TV series for the CW is based on a series of novels by Cecily von Ziegesar about ‘socialite young adults’ living in the big apple who attend snobby academic institutions and goes through what all teenagers goes through; which is of course sex, drugs and rock n’roll. The story is centered on ‘Gossip Girl’ who knows all the latest gossip that’s going on around the teenage circle and she narrates the story in true gossipy fashion, and all the characters in the story go to her for the latest gossip even though they are at the center of the story.

The identity of ‘Gossip Girl’ remains a mystery but it’s still Kristin Bell in all her fame and glory lending her voice to the ever successful producer of the previously acclaimed best teenage show The O.C’s Josh Shwartz, who is covering the helm of ‘Gossip Girl’. So here’s hoping to cameo from Kristin in the near future.

Filled with the latest oh so called hip music and teenage angst and rivalries as well as a sappy love story this is going to be eaten up by the young female population of TV viewers, which is not a shocker as this is well, aimed at them.

The story has a bunch of TV cliché’s but it’s still good television and this going to become my guilty pleasure of the year, last year’s being Gilmore Girls.
